Our Tee Ball program is the first step in the progression through the various divisions of Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth. The program is designed for all 5 and 6 year old boys and girls to participate together and begin to learn the basic fundamentals of throwing, catching, and batting. A soft safety ball is used and all batting is done off a tee. Coaches are allowed to be on the field with the players during games to enable more one to one coaching during game situations. Participants are not separated by gender in this program.
Practices will begin in late March or early April with games beginning in early to mid April. The regular season consists of 12-15 games and will conclude near the time the traditional school year ends. All games are played at Simplot Sports Complex in Columbia Village. Players are normally placed on a team based on the public school attended or area of residence.
*Note- The date for determining the league age of participants for Tee Ball is determined by your child’s age on April 30 of the current year.
If you would like to petition for your player to play in a higher age group you must complete registration in the players correct age group and then come to an In Person registration to fill out the petition form. A player can petition but it is up to the league to make the final decision and there is no guarantee. Players will have to assess in their proper age group and the age group they are petitioning.
